BINTULU (Sept 19): Oman’s deputy ambassador to Malaysia, Mohamed Najeeb Al Baloshi, conducted a benchmarking visit to the 18th Borneo International Kite Festival (BIKF) 2025 at the Old Airport site here on Thursday.
He was accompanied by a delegation of international kite flyers from Oman, who are also participating in the festival.
The deputy ambassador was welcomed by Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) deputy chairman Dato Haidar Khan Asghar Khan and BDA senior manager (Human Resources Division) Mohamed Ansari Mohd Syed Ahmad.
According to a BDA spokesperson, the official session facilitated strategic discussions on enhancing tourism development, international relations, and cultural exchange between Malaysia and Oman.
“This initiative reflects BDA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening cooperation between Malaysia and Oman through international platforms such as BIKF,” the statement read.
The visit is expected to further foster closer diplomatic and economic ties between Oman and Malaysia, with Bintulu, Sarawak serving as a key point of engagement.
